Our Story
Legalization moved
faster than education.
The Cannabis Literacy Project was founded on a simple observation — and a firm belief that the gap it revealed could be closed.
The Cannabis Literacy Project was founded on a simple observation: cannabis legalization has moved faster than cannabis education.
Consumers are expected to navigate an increasingly complex marketplace filled with cannabinoids, terpenes, concentrates, edibles, testing data, and medical claims — often with little more than a budtender's recommendation or a quick internet search to guide them.
At the same time, industry workers are frequently expected to answer difficult questions without receiving the level of training or educational support necessary to do so confidently. Budtenders are often taught what a brand wants them to sell, not what a consumer needs to know.
The Cannabis Literacy Project was created to help bridge that gap — to build a trusted, accessible, agenda-free resource for anyone who wants to better understand cannabis, from the first-time buyer to the seasoned industry professional.
